I’m Kate Kirages-Gordon, a licensed clinical social worker. My path to direct practice has been a bit of a winding road. I obtained my Master’s in Social Work from the University of Houston and have been a licensed social worker since 2018. I’ve had the privilege of working with clients across the lifespan in various settings, which has enriched my understanding of diverse perspectives. Throughout this work, I have found a passion for translating my community-based focus to provide direct therapy to clients. Through an eclectic approach, I assist clients in embracing the power of vulnerability in action. Using evidence-based practices, I guide clients in reconnecting with their authentic selves through a trauma-informed lens.
The path to healing looks different for everyone.
When traumatic events happen, our brains can become overwhelmed and get “stuck”. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) allows the brain to resume its natural healing process. Find out more here.
Adverse childhood events may continue to impact us, even years later. These wounds inform the way we connect to others. To move forward with healing, we need to look to the past to untangle memories and experiences from our formative years.
Therapy is a collaborative experience between the client and therapist, and I am committed to meeting you at whatever step in your journey you may be. You are the expert in your life, and I am here to help guide you to meet your goals.
I offer virtual sessions by appointment. Attending therapy virtually allows for greater accessibility, flexibility, and in a private space that you choose.
I am in-network with several insurances, and I can also provide a superbill for out-of-network clients to help with reimbursement. You can also pay out-of-pocket, and I offer sliding scale payments as needed. Please reach out with any questions, I will work with you to keep therapy affordable.
I look forward to connecting and learning more about what brings you to therapy. Please find my contact information below.
